What is FoxProfile?
FoxProfile is a free, open-source manager for separate browser profiles, each with its own device fingerprint, cookies, proxy, timezone and locale. It runs Camoufox or a Chrome engine, and offers a desktop app as well as a server mode with a web panel for remote management. Founders, marketers and other teams that need to manage distinct browser identities can run it on Windows, macOS or Linux, or host it on a VPS.
FoxProfile Features:
Persistent Fingerprints: Each profile generates and stores a device fingerprint covering details such as screen, GPU, CPU cores, fonts and canvas or audio noise, with an option to generate a replacement.
Browser Engines: Profiles can use Camoufox, a Firefox build, or a Chrome engine based on fingerprint-chromium, with the engine selected when the profile is created.
Proxy Settings: A profile can use an HTTP, HTTPS, SOCKS4 or SOCKS5 proxy, with optional authentication, and includes a proxy checker.
Profile Data: Browser history, cookies, logins and open tabs stay with the profile between launches, and profiles can be exported or imported as ZIP files.
Cookie Transfers: Cookies can be imported or exported in Cookie-Editor or EditThisCookie JSON and Netscape cookies.txt formats.
Remote Controls: Server mode provides a web panel for profile management and remote screen viewing, while the REST API and MCP server support scripting and browser actions.
FoxProfile Benefits:
Consistent Sessions: Returning to a profile restores its saved browser state, so users can continue work without rebuilding sessions or reopening the same tabs.
Flexible Hosting: Running the manager locally or on a VPS lets users choose where profiles and browser sessions are handled.
Fewer Manual Steps: Bulk launch, stop and delete actions make it easier to handle several profiles together rather than repeating those actions one at a time.
Portable Profiles: ZIP transfers carry profile data and its fingerprint between machines, helping users keep a profile intact when changing computers.
Visible Network Checks: Comparing a proxy's exit IP across several services can surface country, timezone or datacenter-IP mismatches before a user proceeds.
Use Cases:
Separate Accounts: Keep browser sessions for different work accounts apart by assigning each one its own profile, cookies and fingerprint.
Proxy Review: Check a profile's proxy before use when the expected country or timezone matters to the browsing task.
Cookie Migration: Move cookies into a profile from a supported JSON or Netscape file, or export them for use with tools such as yt-dlp or curl.
VPS Browsing: Run profiles on a VPS and use the web panel to view and interact with a browser screen remotely.
Automated Browsing: Connect an MCP-compatible AI app to launch a profile, navigate pages, click, type and capture screenshots.
