What is Agent Remote?
Agent Remote lets people run Claude Code or Codex on a Mac and continue using the same live session from an iPhone or another computer. The Mac remains the host, so the agents work with its files, tools and logins, while paired devices can send messages and follow replies. A project wiki maintained on the Mac supplies context to new sessions, making the tool useful for developers who move between devices or want their agents to retain information about ongoing work.
Agent Remote Features:
Live Session Sharing: Start Claude Code or Codex on a Mac and follow the same live session from a paired iPhone or another computer.
Device Pairing: Connect an iPhone or computer by scanning a QR code, and pair several Macs with one phone.
Project Wiki: Agent Remote builds and updates a local wiki about your work and projects, then includes it in each new Claude or Codex session.
Session Controls: Queue follow-up messages, stop an agent mid-turn, and answer questions or permission prompts from paired devices.
Usage Tracking: View context use and five-hour and weekly limits with reset times, and let a chat resume after a usage limit resets.
Encrypted Transfers: Requests, replies and files are end-to-end encrypted, and photos, files and screenshots can move between devices and the Mac.
Agent Remote Benefits:
Work Away From Mac: Keep up with an agent while away from the host computer instead of needing to sit at its keyboard.
Less Repeated Context: Give new sessions background on your work without re-explaining the same project details each time.
Fewer Paused Tasks: Let queued chats carry on after a usage limit resets rather than having to restart them manually.
Faster Prompt Responses: Handle agent questions and permission requests from a paired device, helping work proceed without returning to the Mac.
Work With Mac Resources: Keep agent work tied to the Mac’s files, tools and logins instead of moving that working environment to another device.
Use Cases:
Mobile Coding: Start a Claude Code or Codex task on a Mac, then check replies and answer prompts from an iPhone.
Laptop Handoffs: Continue a live agent session from another computer when switching work locations or devices.
Ongoing Projects: Use the local wiki to give new sessions context about a project that spans multiple agent conversations.
Limit Management: Check reset times and leave a chat waiting to resume when a Claude or Codex usage limit resets.
Terminal Follow-Up: Bring sessions started in Terminal into the shared view and pick them up across paired devices.
