What is Rember?
Rember turns learning material into AI-generated flashcards using an AI canvas where users describe what they want to remember. It accepts typed concepts, pasted text, book references, URLs, YouTube videos, and AI chats, then lets learners review the resulting cards in Rember or Anki. Spaced repetition is built around FSRS, with options to adjust card instructions, organize decks, and manage reviews.
Rember Features:
AI Canvas: Describe what you want to remember in natural language, then use the canvas to guide which information becomes flashcards.
Multiple Inputs: Create cards from typed concepts, book references, pasted text, URLs, YouTube videos, and conversations with AI tools.
Custom Instructions: Set instructions for how the AI phrases, structures, and formats the flashcards it generates.
Anki Review: Generate cards in Rember and review them in Anki, providing an option for learners who prefer that study workflow.
FSRS Reviews: Use spaced repetition with FSRS, and pause, snooze, or undo reviews when you need to change your study session.
Deck Organization: Group flashcards into decks to organize material and prioritize which sets to review.
Device Sync: Automatically sync across desktop and mobile, with offline use supported.
Rember Benefits:
Less Card Drafting: Turning source material into generated cards can reduce the time spent manually composing questions and answers for review.
Focused Study: Control over card structure helps learners shape reviews around the concepts and level of detail they want to retain.
Flexible Reviews: Pausing, snoozing, or undoing a review makes it easier to adapt a study session when plans or recall change.
Lower Setup Effort: Carefully chosen default settings let learners begin using the tool without first configuring a study system.
Learning Continuity: Offline access and device syncing help learners keep their study material available across different places and devices.
Use Cases:
Book Study: Turn a book reference or selected passage into cards while studying subjects such as reinforcement learning or another technical topic.
Video Learning: Use a YouTube video as source material and create flashcards for concepts to revisit after watching.
Lecture Notes: Paste text from notes or reading material to make a set of review cards for an upcoming course assessment.
AI Chat Capture: Send useful material from a Claude or ChatGPT conversation to Rember through its MCP integration for later review.
Concept Practice: Start with a topic such as linear algebra basics and generate cards to support repeated practice of its key concepts.
